- The coating on the lower fenders is probably an anti-chip that you spray on (in a spray can) just before the topcoat. A lot of newer cars used this along the rocker panels and the bottom of the fende

- Have you considered using the 3M film tape that is designed to protect cars and trucks? I have seen a few classic cars at shows with it covering the front of the hood and other front surfaces to prot
