Hi Grant, Don't worry about what engine you put in your 55, because of the age of your truck you can put anything you want in it. It is not subject to the various smog laws. Hope this helps, Donald S

I have tagged a few cal trucks and cars. they will ask you if its modified, but only on title transfer. if the pink slip is in your name already, they will never know. cops cant pull you over anymore

they dont look at engine numbers at all at any smog check place. they look for higher levels of certain pollutants to tip them off so if the cam is not too wild and the compression is not sky high an
