There has been a thread on undercoat removal, and now, wouldn't ya know it, I need to remove some. (How does this work...do I have the problem first, or does some cosmic overlord give me the problem

Hi, any helpful hints on removing the tar-like undercoating from my TR-4's wheelwells? I'm considering warming it up with a propane torch to see if I can scrape it off... Thanks in advance, Tony Drew

You might consider using a hot air gun, as is sold for stripping paint, rather than an open flame...

Tony, That's how I did it... Of course the body was not attached to the frame at the time and anything flammable was put well away. Also if you can find some card board or really cheap paricle board

I used solvent and a LOT of paper towles to remove what sounds like the same

I tried numerous techniques for removing the sound deadening material from the entire inside of my ITA Mazda..... the thing that finally worked was a cheap air chisel with a flat blade.. cold materia
