Does anyone know of an SCCA approved rollbar that will fit an early square body Sprite and still allow the stock convertible top to be used? If so, could you pass on your contacts? TIA Jackson Zimmer

No way, sorry. SCCA requires a full roll cage with side bar protection on at least the drivers side. Helmet must be several inches BELOW the roll cage. No way possible to do this and use the top. Sor

Larry, do vintage cars running in the SCCA vintage classes have to comply with current SCCA regs for modern cars? I'm thinking of FFords without front hoops, etc. My car is a sports racer (1.8 litre)

I don't have the original's person's post here, but I took it to be asking about rollbars that meet the SCCA construction standards, not the full rollbar specification for Production cars in the GCS.

You need to review the SCCA Vintage rules. Look up appendix Z. Vintage cars running in vintage groups do not require a modern full cage. Most tech inspectors would like to see them though. -- Dave Fr

A roll bar that fits under a standard top is called a "street bar" in most of the catalogs I have seen. An SCCA approved bar used to mean a diagonal bar inside the main hoop. Of course, SCCA now requ
