There was a hot rod VW that ran with the modified cars here in the Northwest, during the 60's. It was recently found in an Oregon garage, and, I understand will be back racing one of these days. Ted

VWs did race in the 60s. In fact, Speedweeks in the Bahamas featured an all VW race. Dan Gurney won at least once.

There was a very fast VW that I saw a few years ago at a combined VARAC & CASC (Canadian) regional Race. It was very quick but NOT vintage legal and ran with the CASC cars. Unfortunate I haven't seen
