On my '72 TR6 the OD switch acts the same as yours: UP is OFF; DOWN is ON. I've been told that this is the way switches work on the other side of the pond. If you have a column-mounted light switch

Your OD switch should activate the OD in the down position. Up will disengage. Pete, The OD does not need the clutch to engage or disengage. It is entirely a seperate function of the transmission. P
