I have just replaced my collection of odd wires that came on my TR ( One 48, two 60, & one 72 spoke wheels) with four sand blasted and powder coated 60 spoke wheels. Now my question is what do I use

Unless you want to trust an under-inflated tire, imho your only solution is to go with the 155x15. Since most of the time it is "for show" only, if you match the tread the casual observer won't know

I've got a 165 x 15 tire (I think) on a 60-spoke wheel as a spare and it fits OK. It's a little snug, but it does fit. I'll double check the tire size to make sure. What really caught my eye in your

Maybe it is a matter of cross sectional differences of the same size tyre from different manufacturers? What brand and designation is your spare that will not fit? I have a Michlen 165-15 that fits
