Does anyone on the list know if it is necessary to use gasket cement on a TR-3A oil pan gasket? None of my shop manuals mention it. If so, could you recommend a brand? How about Permatex Ultra-copper

There is a product called "The Right Stuff" which can be found at many auto-parts stores. It's a black type of sealant which comes in a "cheeze-whiz" type of can. I just used it on my oil pan on the

This may have been said before, but Loctite makes a "Gasket Eliminator Sealant" (Part 518) that does a great job. I have used it to seal up crankcase halves on Triumph, Norton and Ducati motorcycles
