- I'm experiencing an odd problem. Hopefully some of you less electrically challenged can help me out. I recently installed a new stereo in my TR4. It worked fine for the first couple of days, then qu

- Doesn't necessarily follow, since it might be a spike on the switched line that is "crashing" the stereo. Any decent car audio place should be able to sell you an "in-line" noise filter to put in th

- 1000 microfarads (abbreviated mfd or sometimes uF) should make a difference, if that is the problem. More won't hurt anything, but the 0.5 farad or 1.0 farad "monster" caps are certainly overkill. U

- In addition to the other comments, you might try moving the power connection to the battery side of the ammeter where the noise is attenuated. The spikes may be sending the microprocessor in the radi

- The larger the capacitor the greater the inrush current issue will be. Slamming a 1 farad monster cap across a 12 volt battery through the key switch contacts will likely shorten the life of the swit
