Carl, per the instruction sheet that came with my gasket, it will NOT work with aftermarket aluminum valve covers. He doesn't say why, just that it won't. Oh well... Michael Ferguson 1959 TR3A TS5399

The original v.c. on a T/R 3-4 has grooves around the edges where the v.c. gasket attaches, the gasket is molded with grooves to fit these grooves, the cast/aluminum has a very flat bottom, no groove

You CAN have both, but not with Justin's gasket. However, the alloy valve cover I have had on my TR6 does not leak and is pretty. Careful installation of the gasket will prevent leaks, at least from
