Sorry, but I have to get up on my soapbox for this one. The seat belt law exists because the EVIDENCE shows you're safer staying in your car than being thrown from it. This evidence is not refutable.

I have a friend, that drives a tow truck, here in NYC. He's told me that he's NEVER responded to a fatal accident in which the driver was not wearing a seat belt...go figure. Tom
