Been there. Done that. Make sure you know where the knock is coming from - I had one and it was a bad small end bushing. Sliding in new bearings won't help there! It's very possible. Some of the pan

It's an easy job. About 12 bolts out, the pan drops down and slides off to the rear, Charlie B.
