The switch doesn't do anything that a wrench won't do when used on a battery terminal to disconnect the cable, but it's a convenience. As such, and given that Triumph felt comfortable in not providin

The preferred method is to install it in the negative battery lead. (assuming a negative ground vehicle). In this way if a terminal accidentally contacts the car chassis it only completes the circuit
