Is there any reason not to use stainless bolts to hold the downpipe on to the exhaust manifold? Will they come out better in the future? I'd rather not go through the broken stud removal business any

I've heard that stainless does not do well in high temperature threaded applications, it tends to gall badly. My suggestion would be a generous dose of anti-seize every time you remove and reinstall

Hi List! I'd like to carry Jim W.'s question a step futhure. If one was to use Anti-seize grease on the studs, then the nuts would beable to come off much easier & the stud out of the Exhaust Manifol

That connection gets too hot for Loctite. Use anti-seize on both sides, and fresh lock washers under the nuts to keep everything tight until you want it loose. I haven't had any trouble with the stu
