I have split, cleaned, painted, installed new stainless pistons and seals on the TR6 with not problems. I would encourage the stainless and I bought mine from TRF. Brakes work great with no leaks. N

I have past e-mail showing the torque on the 5/16" bolts is 45 ft/lbs and for the 3/8" bolts it is 75 ft/lbs. I used these figures when I rebuilt my calipers and have had no issues at all with them.
