Here's the sad scenerio: We're installing the hood on my TR4A following a new paint job. While adjusting the front hinges, we allowed the hood to latch (at the back). Now the latch will not release.

I have now dropped the oil pan and removed the head and pulled the noisy piston and cylinder. The sleeve pushed up when I pushed up the piston and bent the gasket, so I will fit a new gasket. I don't
