I just received a new gas cap from Sunbeam Specialties and discovered that the four holes for mounting the inner seal assembly are not tapped. Does anyone know whether they are 4-40 or .5mm w/.35 pit

I have a Mk 1 Tiger and it has the same gas cap arrangement as the Series IV and V Alpines. They are secured with four 1/2" Phillips head nuts on the inside of the fender behind the holes. John Slade
