- My guess is that the duckbill drains under the vents are cloged with dirt. The rain filled them with water and with the high humidity level it only needed a bit of engine warmth to turn the trapped

- The Hurst shifter can be installed with the tranny in place. Not the easiest job to do on jackstands in the home garage, but I got it done. Access to a garage lift would ease the effort involved. BTW

- This could be done with a pantograhph machine- copy an original tank to make the wooden buck. A more modern approach would involve 3D digitizing of the original and then CNC machining the wood mold.
