As others have written it's the souped up version of the Hillman Avenger. But what interests me on that brochure is the Sunbeam pedal car. Presumably Rootes used to sell them. Cool! R. -- David or Ga

I can't imagine Martyn Morgan-Jones would have any bias towards Austin-Healeys. He's very much a Rootes man. He used to be editor for the Imp Club's magazine. He's also written the odd book on Imps.

Whew! Just catching up with my mail. Not only did the original Tiger do 152mph in 1926 (not 1927 - 1927 was the year for the 1000hp car), but in 1990 they took it for another run and it did 159mph. N
