- You shouldn't need a relay for the starter solenoid. It is in fact, a relay itself. For cleaning the inside of female connectors, use electrical contact cleaner. You should be able to get it at most

- I must be missing something. Why not just remove the bowl? The old accelerator pumps blow out so easy, I used to keep bowl gaskets and diaphragms on hand and would change them in about 15 minutes. Us

- There's no problem with using a hose on it. You get water from underneath and through the radiator when you drive in the rain. If you feel the need, you can always disconnect the negative battery cab
