I money permits, I would get a complete rebuild from Doug Jennings, Tiger Auto. He replaces all the control arm bushings, ball joints, etc. and has the cross member's metal parts chemically cleaned

I don't think alcohol is a very strong solvent. I would just used lacquer thinner and compressed air. Lacquer thinner is a great cleaner and I have never use alcohol except to relax while watching S

That's very interesting. My father told me many times of the German POWs working at Wright Field during the war. Most of the captured German aircraft were shipped to Wright Field and evaluated there.
