According to Tom Monroe's How to rebuild the SBF, A C4OE-F block is a 63-64 289 block with a 5 bolt bell housing. The 260 is C4OE- B,-D,or-E among others. Erich without except looking?

Thanks Steve for the detailed answer. To clarify, The transmission can be shoved far enough rearward that the bell housing can be slipped between the pressure plate and the input shaft of the tranny.
