A better idea is get a length of 1/8 x 1/2" (or is it 5/8 wide?) flat mild steel from a hardware or home center store, cut it to size, file or round over the corners so not to tear the top. Paint it

Just in case you don't have the dimensions of the front strip it's 36 1/4" long, 5/8" wide, and 1/16" thick. The ends are rounded. I don't think the dimensions are critical and a couple of pieces of

That's a perfectly straight piece of bar stock (I think about 1/2" x 3/16") that you should be able to buy in any hardware store or Home Depot/Lowe's. The length should be the same length as the poc
