- HPR 50 is too heavy for a Sprite motor which is designed to run on a 30 weight oil. In Australia's climate a 50 weight is ok because ambients are generally higher. You are right in your startup conce

- I've been using Mobil One full synthetic for years. I think it is 5/50 but they my have changed it in recent years. The main advantage it has is that it doesn't break down at really high temperatures

- Phew! That is a lot less serious. Sounds like you need a valve cover gasket--an easy and cheap fix. I like to silicone the valve cover gasket into the cover itself to provide a good seal there, then
