My wife wants a Miata as her next car, so I thought I would check with the List since many of you have Miatas along with your Spridgets. She doesn't care if its new or a good used one. Her only requi

Trish has a 1990 5-speed. Avoid 1990 and 1991 because of the "short-nosed crank" problem. The automatic sucks a lot of the pep out of the engine, especially in a Miata which was never any peppier th

If you get an automatic then the least you should do is buy an '06 (NC). 170 BHP with a 4.10 diff and weighs in around 2400 pounds. That one might have a chance of pulling the automatic. The 5 speed

Hi Jim, Folks seem to be as over joyed with any Miata just as Spridget owners were when our cars were new or almost new. The big difference, besides the age, is that Mazda has stood behind the Miata,

My wife bought an '05 leftover this past spring. There was a $3K rebate on it and the dealer started at invoice. The price (not including tax & title) was under 18K. It is a great little car. It is g

In the late nineties, I was interested in getting a Miata so I decided to rent one and drive up the coast to Monterey and back. That's about 800 miles round trip. Unfortunately, the only rentals had

I was told it was only a problem if an impact wrench was used on the crank pulley bolt during timing belt change. I was orig owner of a 1990 and a 2001. The 1990 was bulletproof. The 5 speed was an a
