With the help of this list I've sorted out all the electrical problems (that I know of) in the Bug-eye, with a lone exception - the non-stock horn. The horn works when I ground it to the chassis, but

I'm a great fan of relays. I don't know how you are measuring the 1V drop, but if it's with no load (i.e., horn button not pushed) that is a lot. If it's with the button pushed it's not so much. Hal

The steering column is not well grounded. If you painted it or the rack, it's hardly grounded at all. The column is bolted to the body with an aluminum block but with a rubber band around the column

I had same problem with my horn. I did as Frank C recommended and added a ground wire to the steering column. Problem solved - horn works fine. Jim Rogers San Juan Capistrano
