Get a cold chisel, one with a hex shaft, and suitable in size to fit the pin slot. Grind the tip to suit even better. Stick a socket or impact wrench on the end of the chisel handle. Worked for me. -

Strangely enough, that's exactly what I did as well. Worked for me, too. Ed showed me a 3/8" drive SnapOn screwdriver bit that he got machined to fit the hole and the groove perfectly. At around $20
