The Leafs (1/4) on both my Bugeyes do indeed point down at the axle mount. If your springs are relativly new, (past 10 years or so) the replacements are way over sprung making our Bugeyes look like j

You have quarter elliptic springs right? If so, they normally curve down at the rear. It is easy enough to lower the rear of quarter elliptic cars - just add a little wedge underneath the springs in
