- That's the whole idea, the oil dampens the piston so as to increase fuel to air ratio. As far as filling goes I fill to almost the top of the piston and it seems to work just fine. Hope this helps. D

- Fred, the two rings are to there to keep tension on the timing chain. It will probably run OK for a while but will get noisy as time goes on. My recommendation is that you install them as they should
