The number on the side is the body number. I didn't know there was such a thing, but the Roadster Factory catalog has an explanation of it. What's missing is the plate on the side that is supposed to

It depends on whether the two numbers that are being compared ate the same. On later cars, the commission plate is not on the cowl but on the driver side door post. The smaller plate as mentioned is
