does any one have any suggestions for decarburizing the cylinder head? i am replacing my head gasket, and i want to get all that black soot out, but i am unsure as to how to remove it from the piston

But I would recommend AGAINST using it on the pistons or any aluminium items. Easy-Off is a strong alkali and corrodes that stuff. Donald.

One of the 'tricks' we used back in the reciprocating powerplant days was to use hydraulic fluid down the carb(s) throat while at 75%. Nasty stuff, atomized cherry juice. Cleans the entire fuel path

thanks, jon. i would have felt a little pushy to say again that i already had the head removed. so, with the head removed, what would be the best way to remove the carbon from the tops of the pistons
