- In the process of stripping all the paint from my 77. I am using Aircraft Stripper and probably a DA with 80 grit to get the small remaining bits. A few questions though: 1. After stripping the pain

- I've done this with a pair of engine stands and some minor welding, but could do it all also with a bit of metal and bolts. This covers it pretty well, with pictures: http://www.ponypics.com/spitfire

- Paul, If the stripper says to use mineral spirits, I think I'd use that. However, after that, I think I'd was with soap and water. Or I'd at least use soap and water. Also do a relatively small area,
