I think it is going on the notion that the fan is almost never needed. My rice burner has only an electric fan and it's NEVER on unless I am waiting in line at the drive-through or something. -- Trev

I'm glad to see all of you put this part on the list. I've been wondering about the affect on overal hp that an electric fan would have. This kind of information I believe might help a lot of others
