You might want to check and see if the piston will move out, as well as back into the caliper. Several years ago I had the same problem and found that the pistons were more than just a bit stuck. Reb

When you split the calipers you also tend to disturb the small O-ring that seals the two halves when assembled. In rebuilding mine some time back, I replaced both. No leaks. Mike P

I believe the item pictured is the "gulp valve". It connects to the air injection manifold, the intake manifold, and the line from the air pump. Set up that way on my 80 spit. Mike P
