- Does anyone know the deck height of a 1500? Likewise - the thickness of a standard gasket. Anyone have any experiences of using two (or more?!) gaskets to lower the compression ratio? James 69 Signa

- You are right - I would be mad to want to lower the compression - unless I was turbo charging it... But no - it's nothing that exciting... Last easter I bought a bargain 1300 cylinder head - ported,

- I measured the cc of the combusion chambers in the head using liquid Then worked it out from there... James

- They do exist - I just havent got a price from anyone yet... Been advised that a standard piston can be machined down by about 0.5mm at most.- which doesnt really do much to the CR. James

- Usually a click is down to not enough current - check the cable going from the battery to the solenoid - it may look ok - but I've had one go before with no visible or diagnosable reason. James
