My fuel gauge on my 76 1500 is suddenly dead. It seems to have begun after replacing fuel hoses and filters at the tank. Shorting the two wires at the sender gets it working again. So its the sender

It's available at the Home Depots I go to in California. Also Eagle hardware - they have a larger selection. There is one formula that supposedly encapsulates rust and neutralizes it. Just be careful
