Hello All Thanks for all for the advice and offers. I went with the Heli-coil option. Installation was fairly straight foward. I did not like the plastic attachment that is used to install the coil.

Lube with slippery substance of your choice, use a socket with a slighty smaller diameter than the shock opening, press in with a C Clamp. If I remember correctly thats how I did it.

I assume you have a Spit. You might check and see if a TR6 coupling will fit. On the advice of my mechanic I installed one on my 70 GT6 and it works just fine. It looks just like a small u-joint. My

Think it was a dealer installed option. On the passenger side reach behind the dash to the left of the eyeball vent. You will feel a round hole in the steel. I think it went there. Cheers Ken Copelan
