I've been reading up on these systems a little bit today. It seems that a reverse osmosis system generates a good deal of waste water compared to the clean water you actually get. It has to do with t

I'm on a well, so water usage is irrelevant to me. The amount of waste water is not that much. Still well worth it for drinking, and still a lot cheaper than buying bottled water (which is mostly RO

I would suggest weekly showers and only flush weekly using bottled water for both. Also, drink beer. :) -- Original Message -- Water here in N. Florida is EXPENSIVE. My bill this month is $275. Not f

Does that also include landscape irrigation? If so, is sewage charged on that water? Some of the suburbs around Detroit that are on the Detroit water system have the option of a 2nd water meter that

I understand but all I'm saying is that if the water is undrinkable and you are going out and buying bottled water, an RO system, with its associated 'waste' water is still going to save you money. P

So clearly, at those kinds of prices, I don't want a whole house system. I didn't want to have to run a separate line to the kitchen sink just for this, but I may have to. I'll have to look around at

BTW, I stumbled across this: http://www.howstuffworks.com/question29.htm $200 - $300 will get you an RO under-sink system. I replace my filters every 2-3 years (it was 2.5 years this time) for about

Don't bother with the Pur systems. With municipal water systems, they don't do much. What you want out can only be removed with a RO process. There are table top RO systems but for the small incremen
