- I want to get a thermometer for the shop. I was just going to run down to Radio Shack and pick up a big number digital display one. But got to wondering if the cold temps may render a digital readout

- I use a Radio Shack digital thermometer/hygrometer. My garage sees near freezing temperatures as well, and I never had a problem with the display. Gives me max/min temperature as well as max/min humi

- My thermostat only goes down to 50. Hold it there all winter. With the insulation I have, this costs next to nothing for natural gas. Plain old advertising-specialty red-liquid thermometer. Phil Eth
