I'd guess it depends more on the individual tire than the maker. I've got BFG tires on my hauler (which happens to be a big station wagon rather than a pickup) and they do pretty good in the wet and

FWIW: If you have a Costco nearby, they are currently offering $70 off a set (4) of tires, and their service is generally very good. I plan on picking up a set of BFG A/T's for my truck from them. __
