- Yes, that would be the problem; it probably does not have an internal centrifugal switch to drop the cap out of the circuit when the motor comes up to full speed. ____________________________________

- Can you open it up and have a look inside? Pretty much all single phase induction motors have some sort of starting arrangement, sounds to me like yours is defective or partially missing. For exampl
