If you have taken a pipe fitting apart that has used the tape all you see is string. That string can get into things. No problem with water, but don't try this on an engine oiling system. It makes a

A couple of companies manufacture smoke generators that route the smoke into the intake manifold (or other places as well). If you have a leak, the smoke leaks out (just like electrical theory <G>).
