Loosen the jam nut and turn the screw in or clockwise, this will tighten the gear mesh. Don't expect to cure all the slop out of it with just that, i found most of mine disappeared after replacing th

Besides your steering box, check the drag link and the tie rod ends. It's pretty common in these trucks to have wear in these areas. Changing the drag link made a world of difference in mine. Put the
