I Seem to be leaking from the Gear Sector Shaft or where the Pitman hooks onto. This appears to be leaking. What does it take to replace seal or packing. Also what fluid is used in the steering box?

The proper lubricant is GM part #1052182, it looks like a mix of grease and rear end lube... Anything much thinner than this will seep around the seal as you found out. I believe you'll have to remov

I bought 2 tubes of this lube from my local GMC dealer last spring. They didn't have it on the shelf, but it only took them 2 days to get it. Price was around $6.xx per tube. The proper lubricant is
