- I have the resto packet for the 53 model year and this # appears to be a 216 engine #. the "L" is the model year, "B" is the engine type (216) and "A" indicates it was built at the Flint plant, a "M"

- Sorry I can't tell you how to remove the paint and leave all else in tact, but I can tell you, DON'T use a product called "Aircraft Remover". This stuff will remove the paint right down to the metal
