I asked members if they knew of anyone who sold a tool for streching the hoodsprings to get them on. One idea was to install washers and take them out once they wre installed . This worked on my truc

I have the same problem on my '47. I've tried loosening every bolt and nut...even modified the spring hinge firewall mount to lower beyond original, but still have about an inch rise in the back...fr

Smokey Mine did the same thing and I changed springs and that solved it. If there is an adjustment I couldn't find it. Deacon oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
