One thought about Jim Carter's short shaft pump is that is has the wrong size pulley on it and spins faster than it should. I don't know if this will cause it to run hot though. Patrick's sells pumps

I'm also using the 7lb cap with an original radiator recored with a staggered tube/louvered fin core, a water pump from Patrick's, and a 160F thermo. The freshly rebuilt 261 runs at about 170F. What'

No the motor hasnot been rebuilt recently. Another thought, I have the heater hose outlet on thermostat housing capped as well as on the water pump. No circulations going from thermostat down to wat

I don't think a fan shroud will effect freeway driving but should be great for sitting in traffic. I think the most you should go with anti-freeze is 70/30. I don't think the heater being disconnecte
