4x4 correct Take it to a machine shop and have a mil-spec (think that's what it's called) sleeve put on it. Whatever it's called they'll make it so whe it's warmed up it'll be kinda tight going on, b

You can buy a repair sleeve from NAPA. They are made by Victor, in stainless steel, you hammer them on with a piece of PVC pipe. Stopped seal leakage on my AD GMC. Cost is about $30 per axle. Jack /

I would get a good measurement on what the surface diameter is supposed to be and go to an industrial bearing house (not a parts store) and ask for a Speedi Sleeve for that diameter. These things are

Hi Kevin, I'd take it to a welding shop and ask them if they could build up a matching alloy. Maybe a hard surface rod would do. If so, you could then take it to a machine shop and have them grind it

my local spring shop built my axles up with stainless weld then returned them back down to orig o.d.. 46 chev 1/2ton RWD. maybe someone intour area can do the same oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and G

Hello Kevin- Your idea about a sleeve is correct, and common. Any good machine shop can sleeve it for you without cause for concern. You're also right about the seal not holding up... if it isn't SMO
