I want to put my battery on the firewall. Did the 58-59 have the battery on the firewall? From the picture i have seen it appears that it did but I need to be sure before ordering it. It is polished

I am thinking (real dangerous) that I will put a steel backup plate approx. 16 x 16 on the inside of the firewall to distribute the wieght and possibly where the tray thru bolts put some sort of kick
