- Wayne, my '47-2 has a '56 235 in it. I've been told these engines were painted Chevrolet Blue. I'm ready to paint my engine and that's the color I'm going with. Couple of other questions.... (1) What

- I'm pretty sure the TF era 235's went out the door in "Chevy Grey"... cars had blue engines... air cleaners (oil bath) were a sintered bronze... the oil filter depends on whether you have an AC/Delco

- Gray is the right color for truck 216-235 most years. PPG 34560 is a currently available match. It's very close to Bill Hirsch's color. Blue engines were car engines. I've always seen air cleaners pa
